We’re so excited to welcome everyone back to MHCA! As we get ready for the first day, we wanted to recap a few important details for the new school year:
*Morning Drop-Off*
Kindergarten–12th grade students should be dropped off at the **MHCA Gym between 7:30–7:55 a.m.** Please arrive by 7:55 to avoid a tardy.
*Afternoon Pick-Up*
• **K3, K4, Kindergarten & 1st Grade:** Early Ed entrance beginning at **3:30 p.m.**
• **2nd–8th Grade:** Main building beginning at **3:45 p.m.**
• **9th–12th Grade:** High school pick-up also begins at **3:45 p.m.**
*Lunch & Water Bottles*
Hot lunches will not begin until **after Labor Day**, so please pack a lunch for your student each day. Students should also bring a **refillable water bottle** to use throughout the day.
Watch for more information soon about our hot lunch program and how ordering will work!
*Uniforms*
If you are a returning student and have not received your new uniform order yet, please wear any MHCA uniforms you have available from last school year.
If you are a new student and are still waiting on uniforms, please wear a **collared shirt and dress nicely** until your uniforms arrive. We also have MHCA retired polos available for $3 in the school exchange closet.
Students will also receive an **MHCA T-shirt this week** that they can wear each Thursday for **MHCA T-shirt Day!**
And finally, we would appreciate your prayers for our students, staff, teachers, and families as we transition back into the school year. We’re looking forward to another great year together at MHCA!

This week, our teachers spent in-service preparing for this school year through various specialized training including student learning gap breakout groups, math, literacy, and technology. Each day began with a group devotional focused on stewardship of the lives and education of students. Teachers also had hands-on fire safety training and an opportunity to experience a prospective new food vendor. We are so grateful for the time our teachers had to learn, strengthen their teaching skills, collaborate, and prepare to serve our students well this school year!
Last reminder about MHCA's Open House on Thursday, August 6th from 5:00-8:00pm! Come meet your teachers, reconnect with friends, make new ones, and check out your classroom before the first day of school! There will also be a brief parent meeting for all K–12 families at 6:30 p.m. in the gym.
We can't wait to see you all there!

This is your first official service opportunity for MHCA families! We need you! As you know, MHCA has service requirements for K-12 families. Start collecting those hours! You can input those through the Family portal under "family". Select the family member that served and post the hours under that person. Students cannot post their own hours, so parents that is your responsibility. If you sign up for a school event through a google form or spreadsheet sent by the school, those will be input for you.
Opportunity #1: We would like to bless our teachers with some things to snack on as they prepare for Open House. That week is an especially physically and mentally demanding week on teachers, and there's not a lot of down time as we get the school/classrooms ready for families. If you'd be willing to provide a snack for the teachers, please use the spread sheet and sign your name in a white space. Food needs to arrive by 4:00pm on August 6th. We have 37 staff members.
Opportunity #2: We need 2 people from last school year who would be willing to sit at a table representing EPIC at Get the Scoop for K3-1st grade families from 2:00-4:30 on Aug. 6th. Your primary role would be to tell families about EPIC and provide a sign up sheet for those that can participate, including their Name and contact info.

You will earn a service hour for any food you provide and you will earn 2.5 service hours serving at the EPIC table and Get the Scoop.
K-12 families, If you haven't shopped for school uniforms, July 29 is the last day! You should have received a $200 shopping code per student to shop. Reach out to vpeglar@mhcaeagles.org if you are unable to locate it in your email. You can access the uniform portal here: https://www.mountainhomechristianacademy.com/article/2253660 Staff, feel free to order any items you would like as well. The portal carries adult sizes as well.
The uniform portal is open! The last day to shop will be July 29th at midnight. If you've already shopped, you can disregard this message. This is for families that did not order uniforms previuosly when the portal was open. The shopping codes have been sent out around 2:00pm today to a parent's email from the LockeRoom. If you cannot locate your shopping code, please reach out to vpeglar@mhcaeagles.org and she can help.

You may also notice our website is getting a new look, it is a work in progress. We hope to make it easier to navigate and find valuable information, but it's not quite there yet.

Hello MHCA families and students!
Once again, if you're new to Mountain Home Christian Academy, Welcome! We've added our newest enrollees to MHCA communication.
Just some quick updates:
If you have not downloaded our school app, we highly recommend it. Just go to the app store on your smartphone and search for our school name. It gives access to our school calendar under events. It can help you plan for open house, fall break, etc.
If you have not ordered school uniforms through our uniform portal, we will be re-opening it for 2 weeks soon. I'll keep you posted. If you enrolled after the portal closed, you will need at least 3 uniforms which include a polo and shorts/skirts/pants. Girls can wear the branded dresses as well. If your student is cold natured, we recommend purchasing a branded outerwear to wear over the polo in the classroom. Each student in K-12 will have $200 to spend in the portal. On the day the portal opens, you will recieve an email from the Lockeroom with a discount code for $200. I will try to to make sure the code is sent to "mom's" email if applicable. Your student will be issued a school t-shirt to wear on Thursdays with the pants of their choice.
If you are a returning family who forgot to order in Round 1, if I remember right, the Lockerroom will send you a new shopping code to your email, the old code will be invalid.
Also, watch for an email going out next week to help you understand how tuition payments will work and exact amounts that will be owed and the timeline. As usual, if you have any financial questions, please reach out to Mrs. Forrest in the main office. 870-424-6622 Our administrative assistants work on rotation in the summer, so Mrs. Forrest is not always in the office at this time.
