✨ Join Us for "January Digital Detox Challenge" ✨
We live in a world where we’re constantly connected—yet more disconnected than ever.
This January, we’re setting aside the noise to make room for what matters most: faith, family, purpose, presence, rest, and real conversations.
📵 A month to unplug.
💛 A month to reconnect.
🙌 A month to live fully.
Whether you're a parent, student, teacher, or just someone longing for more peace in your life—you’re invited.
This isn’t about rules or judgment. It’s about choosing to step away from the scroll and step into life with intention.
Imagine what could happen if we exchanged:
🔁 Screen time for scripture time
🔔 Notifications for prayer and rest
📱 Endless scrolling for face-to-face connection
💬 Digital noise for meaningful conversations
Let’s start the year with clear minds, full hearts, and renewed purpose.
Are you in? ✨
Sign up here for encouragement and accountability as well as weekly devotions to help renew our minds!

A huge thank you goes out to Little T's for an amazing adventure. The third grade class took a field trip to learn all about rocks, minerals, and soil. A fun educational experience by mining and busting geodes. The students are always excited to get their hands dirty and explore the world of rocks and minerals.

We haven't always had worship music on our chapel days. It's fairly new for our school and our students. This is the first year that students have led the chapel worship song. This has really challenged them in such a good way. Proud of these students for stepping out of their comfort zones and rising to the occasion to use their talents for God's Glory. He is worthy of our worship! Thank you Mr. Norvell for the great message about how wonderful the Great Shepherd is!

Recently, our Early Ed had a petting zoo experience, even learning how to rope! Everyone becomes a child again when cute animals are around. Thank you Lord for our furry friends!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mountain Home Baptist for the incredible ways they continue to bless MHCA.
This year, they have generously opened their facilities for our classes, faithfully provide weekly food bags for our students, and this week they went above and beyond by supplying full Thanksgiving meals for families in need of a special blessing.
We are truly grateful for your partnership, your generosity, and the love of Christ you consistently show our school community. Thank you, Mountain Home Baptist!

MH Christian Academy is creating a fun float for the Christmas Parade this year and we need your help! Do you have a gigantic Christmas tree or a Grinch-style Christmas Tree that we could borrow for our float. The theme is centered around Whoville but we will center our float around Christ with a side of Whoville! ;)
MHCA Teachers, (every grade represented including the littles) we need you to select 2 outstanding students to participate in this year's Whoville-themed parade float. If you could pick 2 students, communicate with those parents to see if they can participate, then let Mrs. Peglar know who is planning to participate. She will communicate that information to Jessie our "float coordinator" who will send out details about where to be and when!

It was a fun day for a hands-on lesson in science. Third grade students worked in small groups as they sorted and identified rocks. We couldn't leave out bananas. The students enjoyed learning that our foods are rich in minerals.

Fifth grade enjoyed a wonderful team building activity led by Mrs. Pomfret. This Lego challenge stressed the importance of communication and teamwork when working toward a common goal.

This month we've been blessed to have representatives visit from College of the Ozarks and the University of Arkansas. Whether they go to a trade school, go directly into the workforce, or choose the college path, we want our students to know there are many paths to success.

We've had several questions about an allergen friendly meal option for our Thanksgiving Lunch. We are sorry to report that is not an option this year. The Thanksgiving meal includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, a roll, and cranberry sauce. If your student cannot have these foods, please pack a lunch for this day to send with your student instead of ordering. Thank you!

Each week students prepare a chapel lesson and present it to our preschool classes. Equipping students to lead is a goal at MHCA and I'm not sure who enjoys it more, the students or the teachers?

Just wanted to send a reminder and give more details about our Staff and Student Thanksgiving Lunch set for Thursday, November 20th. Harps will provide a Thanksgiving lunch but students must pre-order by November 13th with their Homeroom/Bible teacher. The lunch cost is $6, will be ordered the same way typical hot lunches are ordered, and will be charged to the family's FACTS account. Students may also bring their lunch to school and choose not to order.
Also, just wanted to clarify jeans are not part of our school uniform this school year. If you have received your pants/skirts, jeans shouldn't be worn except on Thursdays for MHCA Tshirt day. MHCA approved pants are khakis, black pants, and gray pants. Thanks for your help in this area.

Our students from 1st to 3rd grade participated in a unique test that was outside the classroom and beyond the textbooks. Staged trash was placed in different locations on the playground to see who would pick it up.
I am proud to announce that the students passed the test! They showed great responsibility and care for their environment by noticing the trash and taking action to pick it up. It is truly inspiring to see young individuals demonstrate such a positive behavior.

Today, we pause to say thank you to all who have served our country with courage and sacrifice. We are especially grateful for our own MHCA family members who have worn the uniform — Shane Nelson, Bill Joiner, Kathleen Conner, and Doyne Byrd. Your service and example of dedication reflect the heart of Christ in putting others before self.
A Prayer of Thanks for all of our veterans:
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the men and women who have served and sacrificed to defend our freedoms. We are grateful for their courage, strength, and devotion. Bless our veterans today and every day — grant them peace, health, and joy. May we, too, serve with humility and purpose, following the example of Your Son, who gave His life for us all.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
