In Kindergarten, we pretended to be mail carriers. Each student drew a picture for a friend without them knowing. Then they had to match the names when they "mailed" their letter. They were surprised!

Here's what's happening this school week!

  • Chapel Service started today with our first chapel guest Mr. Jason Hoyle. He is always entertaining as he teaches God's Word. Students attend chapel service each Wednesday of the school year. FYI, parents are welcome to come to any chapel service throughout the school year for students K-12. 6-12th grade chapel time begins at 8:00am, and K-5th grade begins at 8:30am. (Exact start times may vary a bit due to speaker's presentation length)

  • Today, Baxter County Fair arm bands will be sold in carline for $30 (exact cash). This will give unlimited rides at the fair for one day, but does not cover admission costs. Thursday and Friday, tickets and arm bands will be sold in the school office for exact cash as well. 20 tickets for $18 and arm bands for $30 -good for only one day.

  • Thursday, Sept. 4 Our Lady Eagles Volleyball team will travel to West Plain to play against Ozark Christian. Games begin at 5:30pm. Prayers for safety, unity, and character development, a win would be fun too!

  • Friday, Sept. 5 is a scheduled school day and will be our Jeans/School Tshirt day instead of Thursday!

  • Friday, Sept. 5 is Grandparents Day at MHCA for PK-3 through 5th grade. Classroom teachers will be communicating with parents about any special plans for that day! Reach out to your teachers for details.

  • Friday, Sept. 5 is the deadline for mission trip deposits for our Juniors and Seniors. Please get cash or check to Mrs. Forrest before the end of the day on Friday.

  • Immediate need: We need volunteers for the MHCA fair booth! Grab a friend and sign up to serve! General information about the school will be provided for you. We also need volunteers to work the concession stand of our Sept. 11 home volleyball games. This is a fun job! Sign up to serve with your student! Sign up to volunteer here: https://www.mountainhomechristianacademy.com/article/2361539

  • Entrepeneuer Class need: Mrs. Bridge's class needs various small boxes (12" and smaller) for the city they are building. ie. toothpaste boxes, etc. They also need 4 (7-pk) of 1" styrofoam sheets. If you can provide these items, send them to school with your student.

  • Still time to register for Ballet. This weekly class on Wednesdays is open to PK4-up. It meets from 4-5pm and starts on Wednesday, Sept. 17. The cost of this series of classes is $60 and will be charged to the student's facts account upon sign up. Register for ballet here: https://forms.gle/eEthHTSbV1SKoayS8

  • Finally, if you are an EFA family (K-12): If you've approved the tuition payments in ClassWallet, you are good to go. Mrs. Forrest will begin posting those to your FACTS account as they arrive in the school's bank account. If you were late to link and are just now funded or are not sure you're funded yet, instructions to check and approve the payment requests are still available. You can find that information HERE. As usual, reach out if you have any questions or if you need help.

Looking to next week:

Entrepreneurship class had a special guest this week, Mr. Jim Brown from the City of Mountain Home's Planning Commission. Mr. Brown delivered a thought provoking discussion on city planning as the Entrepreneurship class considered his expertise while planning the city they will "build" this semester. Mr. Brown also provided valuable insight into how Christ should be the light we follow in all our entrepreneurial endeavors, as well as in life. We would all like to give a special "thank you" to Mr. Brown for giving of his time and heart to enlighten our students with a truly inspirational message.

Entrepreneurship students pose with the rough draft of the city plan they developed during class on Thursday. As the semester progresses, students will "build" this city which will contain each of their individual entrepreneurial businesses. GREAT JOB STUDENTS!!! It's shaping up to be a fun and rewarding venture into entrepreneurship.

For clarification, khaki, black, or gray pants, shorts, and skirts can be worn if your items have not arrived or you have received improper sized items. If you were in the second order and haven't received any of your items, just dress nice for school. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

We understand there have been some "fit" issues with our new school uniforms as well as unfulfilled orders. We are working to improve the entire process for the next school year. However, in the meantime, if your pants have fit issues and are not wearable, please wear the new school polos with any khaki pants, shorts,or skirts-at least fingertip length please. Thanks for rolling with the punches!

Cross Country participants need a sports physical on file with Coach Connor. If they have one completed from last school year, they can use that for one more year. If not, schedule with your family physician or drop in a place like Access Medical Clinic to get it taken care of. Thanks!
