Here's what's happening this school week with a few highlights from next week:
Monday, August 31: With the upcoming high temperatures, Mr Byrd is continuing the current dress code changes. Monday and Tuesday are MHCA uniform days, while Wednesday and Thursday remain MHCA tshirt days for the next 2 weeks, then he will reevaluate.
Tuesday, September 1: Our Silver Eagles grandparent group will meet at 10:00am in the MHCA storm shelter.
Tuesday, September 1: Home Volleyball game vs. Omaha. Games start at 4:30pm, come enjoy the fun and cheer on our Eagles!
Tuesday, September 1: Spirit Day!! On home game days, we often have a dress-up day to show some Eagle spirit! Tuesday it's "Rise and Shine- It’s Volleyball Time!”- PJ Day! Students may wear school appropriate pajamas to school.
Wednesday, September 2: It's Chapel day! Our chapel guest speaker today is Jason Hoyle. MHCA families are invited to join our chapel sessions with their student. See the chapel times posted below.

Thursday, September 3: Ms. Wert and our yearbook team will traveling to a Josten's workshop. They will leave at 6:10am and return around 3:10pm.

Monday, September 7: No school in honor of Labor Day
Tuesday, September 8: The first E.P.I.C. (Eagle Parents In Christ) meeting of the year will be at noon at MHCA. All MHCA parent/guardians are welcome to participate. EPIC helps plan and facilitate school events, helps with fundraisers, and assists with needs of the school. Even if you cannot attend a meeting, if you are a parent/guardian, you are a part of EPIC. Meeting notes will be posted after each meeting. The meetings will be on the second Tuesday of each month at noon.
Friday, September 11: This is a scheduled Friday School Day. Classes will be in session. We will be running Monday/Wednesday for our block scheduled classes. Mark your calendars please.

It's a great way to model service for your kiddos as well. Also, for this particular need, you can have your younger student help you. Please use the sign up spots on the sign up site for adults or students, (7th and older), then add any younger student in the notes.
Rescheduled H.S. Service Opportunity: Mark your calendars! 9th-12th grade Bible students will be serving the Goin family at MH Berry Farm on Thursday, Sept. 17. Students will be transported just after morning assembly and will return around 10:30am. Students/Staff should wear their red MHCA "Fully His" Tshirt and shorts of appropriate length or pants of their choice. Please bring work gloves. Service hours will be added on your students behalf in the FACTS family portal.

Volunteers needed for tomorrow night (Tuesday, Sept. 1): We need a total of 4 people to work concessions at the home volleyball game against Omaha. We need 2 people from 4-6 and 2 people from 6-8. Concessions is fun and it's easy cleanup, serving ice cream and pizza! Because this need is immediate, could you send Vanessa a text at 870-404-2773 if you can take a spot? Volunteer hours will be added on your behalf for your service! Later today, a link will be provided for access to sign up for concessions at the other home games this season.Thank you!
We’re so excited to welcome Haley Slusser to the MHCA family! Haley is serving as a PK4 paraprofessional this year and we are so thankful to have her on our team. We’re grateful for the positive presence she brings to the classroom as she supports our students and helps them learn and grow. We’re so glad you’re part of MHCA, Haley!
Silver Eagles is back for a new school year!
Silver Eagles is a group of grandparents who meet together to volunteer and support MHCA students and staff through different projects and opportunities throughout the school year. The first meeting is Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00 AM in the MHCA storm shelter room. Upon arrival, please check in at the main office to get a visitor pass, and someone will show you where to go.

Monday, August 24: Congrats to our Girls Volleyball for taking 2nd place in their preseason Volleyball tournament. Coach reports that this is the best the team has done in this particular tournament! The girls are traveling to Bergman today, leaving school at 2:45. Game start time is 4:30pm

Monday, August 24: K-12 families: Today is the last day to approve your EFA payment requests without receiving a $75 late fee charged to your FACTS account. Thanks for taking care of this!
Tuesday, August 25: This is the first Home Volleyball game vs. Alpena. There will be free admission for all families! Come join the fun. This will also be our first spirit day for our home game. It's Red/Black day or Eagle tshirts day.
Tuesday, August 25: After the home game, drive across the street to MH Baptist at 7:00pm and hear about the work of Casas por Cristo from Wilmer Top. Let's encourage Wilmer with our attendance and hear about the work being done in Guatemala and the other countries Casas por Cristo serves!
Wednesday, August 26: Our chapel guest is Wilmer Top from Casas por Cristo. If you missed hearing Wilmer Tuesday night, you get a second chance! Join our chapel service, times are estimated and posted below.
Thursday, August 27: Volleyball will be heading to ICC. Games start at 4:30pm. Prayers for safe travels and great game play!

Hot lunch updates: Hot lunch days wil be on Mondays and Thursdays. Students must have enough funds in their pre-paid lunch accounts before they are allowed to order. You can add money to that account in the FACTS family portal under the financial section. Before hot lunches begin, you will see the menu for each week on the app/website under "dining". That's not complete yet as we are solidifying the choices for each week. Lunches will be $6.
