This month, EPIC (Eagles Parents In Christ) is combined with the Silver Eagles grandparents group for the monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 13th at noon.

Today our shop students tested their balsa wood bridges to see how much weight they could hold! The testing ended in some serious destruction, but there was plenty of fun seeing the results!
Due to the home volleyball game tonight, Armor Room, the MHCA grappling club, will not meet today.

Monday, October 5: Wingard took pictures of our Seniors today.
Monday, October 5: Volleyball travels to West Plains to vs. Ozark Christian. Games start at 5:30pm. Team will dismiss from school at 3:00pm.
Tuesday, October 6: In honor of Breast Cancer awareness, our home volleyball game activities will be earning money for the Peitz Cancer Support house. It's Pink-out day! Where pink to school to show your support then bring the whole family to cheer on our Eagles at home vs. Mt. Grove. Games start at 6:00pm. There will be silent auction gift baskets available to bid on as well. This is the last home game of the volleyball season.

Wednesday, October 7: Freshmen have early ed chapel this week.
Thursday, October 8: Today is picture day! All students will need to wear their MHCA polos and jeans on this day.
Thursday, October 8: Basketball season kicks off! Red/Black scrimmage game starts at 5:30pm.
Operation Christmas Child: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 8th grades are participating in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse. Students will pack shoeboxes filled with small gifts, personal items, school supplies, personalized letters and more. Each shoebox is an opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the world. 1 box can reach up to 10 family members. If you would like to also help out please reach out to a teacher in one of those grades. Donations accepted October 5-November 5.

Monday, Oct. 5: Senior pictures with Wingard photography at 8:00am.
Monday, Oct. 5: At the Curb is serving mini corn dogs and fries. Just a little backstory: At the Curb's owner, Nathan Buck, is a believer. On the very first day of hot lunch, his truck engine died. He has still fullfilled all our orders and has knocked it out of the park with the food. We are so grateful for his commitment to MHCA in spite of his troubles. To repair his engine, it is going to be a significant financial burden for him. If you feel like helping him out, consider ordering lunch if you typically don't. It would be awesome if we could actually help him earn what he needs to get his engine repaired.
Monday, Oct. 5: Volleyball will be traveling for game play in West Plains. Games start at 5:30pm.
Tuesday, Oct. 6: Home Volleyball game and spirit day. It's "Pink Out" Day! Show your support for the team's effort to raise money for the Peitz Cancer Support House by wearing pink and by going to the home game.
Wednesday, Oct. 7: Our chapel guest is our very own Mr. Shane Nelson! Family is welcomed to attend.

As we head into Fall Break, we want to take a moment to celebrate our families and encourage you to enjoy this week together. We hope this break gives you an opportunity to slow down, make memories, and spend some meaningful time with one another. Every February the board approves the calendar so families have plenty of time to plan for these breaks and special time together and I hope your family is able to take advantage of this opportunity.
I also want to thank everyone who participated in our Parent-Teacher Conferences. We were encouraged by how well they went and by the partnership between our parents and teachers. Our mission is to partner with parents to educate minds, shepherd hearts, and graduate disciples who influence the world. That mission cannot happen without all of us working together.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being an important part of the MHCA family. Enjoy your Fall Break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on October 5th!
