As we prepare for Christmas and look forward to gathering with family and friends to celebrate the birth of our Savior, please remember that this is the time of year when communicable diseases and illnesses are at their highest.
We have heard that there have been cases of head lice in the upper grades and have had to send some elementary children home with pinkeye. Head lice is often transmitted by sharing hair brushes, ponytail holders, and hats (like Santa hats!) Head lice is also often a single, household occurrence with repeated incidents rather than school-wide outbreaks.
Should you notice your child itching their head particularly around their ears or nape of their neck, please check them before sending them to school. Should they have an active case of head lice, please keep them home and treat them with an over-the-counter head lice shampoo. Upon returning to school, please bring the receipt of purchase or the box top for proof of treatment.
Pinkeye is always a concern regardless of the time of year. If you notice any discolored discharge from your child's eyes or if your child's eyes are "stuck" shut in the morning, please keep them home and have them seen by your physician.
As always, please do not send your child to school if they are actively ill- vomiting, diarrhea, fever- for the safety and well-being of your child, the other students and staff.
I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!
Thank you!
Mrs. C

Come celebrate with MHCA tonight as we celebrate the birth of our Savior with our music program and pie auction!

You should be receiving a message from your student's teacher about the time that your student needs to arrive for the program Thursday. They should wear red, green, or white representing Christmas! After drop-off, come on in, grab a seat in the gym, and look over the baked goods that will be auctioned or vote for which Christmas tree you like the best. The Gym doors open at 5:00pm.
The ballet performances will start promptly at 6:00pm followed by auctioned desserts and the choral performance. It is guaranteed to be an enjoyable evening! We look forward to celebrating with you and your family!
If you choose to purchase a baked good, MHCA can accept all major credit cards, checks, cash, and Paypal!
Thank You!

Mrs. Evans and her 4th graders are busy making Christmas ornaments!

First grade loves learning with Miss Edwards. We also had Liam (our student helper) to help us follow directions. We are so thankful for our teachers and student helpers!

5th and 6th grade decorated their tree with help from parents and grandparents today

We look forward to seeing you this Thursday night for our Christmas Celebration. If you like to bake, please consider baking a dessert to donate to our "Buy it Now" table and just bring it with you to the event (arrive by 5:30 please). No sign up necessary! The dessert just needs to be labeled with the dessert name and who made it.
We want everyone to enjoy a couple of performances from our ballet students, some performances by our Early Education students and some performances by our MHCA students through 8th grade. In between performances, the most beautiful desserts will be sold by live auction. If you don't win your favorite dessert in a bidding war, you can still leave with something sweet from our "Buy it Now" table.
Don't forget to vote on the your favorite Christmas tree as well. Who knows, you may just get to take one of those home too! Looking forward to celebrating the Birthday of the King with you Thursday, Dec. 14th at 6:00pm. (Doors open at 5:00)

In 3rd grade, we learned that "tricky people" are people who try to communicate with us online that we do not know. When this happens, we put down our device and tell someone. Smart students!

First grade is thankful for student helpers!
Here, Fern is taking time out of her day to read about countries like Israel and China. She is helping us learn important facts for Social Studies time!
